Yes Guys, I am no good at airbrushing, how about you. Do you like to listen to music when creating your Masterpieces? I know I do, and honestly the CD I listened to today, just brought a tear to my eye. It is so gorgeous, the back, oh the back to the songs are the best I have heard on a CD in a long, long while. I recommend this CD to everyone, it will bring out the best when you are creating! Love and Light and a Peaceful Festive Season are wished for you. Hi everyone,
What is one Cake Decorating Technique that is an all time favourite? I will give you 3 guesses - that's right you have it in one - Basket Weave! This may look hard, but honestly with a bit of practice and the right tools, and some stamina in your arms and hands, it is quite a simple cake decorating technique. Below I have added a fabulous video which sets out very clearly how to do this wonderful cake decorating technique. One thing I want you to watch very carefully is she wipes the nozzle after each application - VERY IMPORTANT. You will also see here making some simple flowers - what how she does the carnations - awesome - see if you can spot how she made them 2 tone - if you can't I will tell you now, she adds 2 different shades of butter cream frosting in the piping bag. Both colours are vertical down the bag - watch carefully, play the video back several times to see what I mean. I use 2 different colours often when piping my basket weave, it just adds that extra something to the pattern. Look and learn, then go and practice - it is the best way forward! Oh remember, the workman is only as good as his tools - I have added some great tools and supplies you need at the bottom of this post for you access if needed. I will add the video now, and continue my posting afterwards. Have I been slack or what? Finally after so many requests I have added a blog to this site. So, what will this mean, it will mean lots of good posts, each one helping you in your efforts to become the best! I will have a comments section, but the rules will be, no spam (I will moderate each comment) no swearing, lets keep this site friendly, share with each other our experiences plus have the site a “Family” site where children and teenagers can come and learn the wonderful creative art of cake decorating.
